Map 4 - Capital Purpose Matrix

A conventional fact-find can tell us a great deal about an asset without necessarily telling us what the client believes the money is for. Map 4 addresses that gap by moving beyond the inventory of pensions, investments, property and cash to explore the purpose those resources may serve.

The Capital Purpose Matrix brings assets, liabilities and headline cash flow into one picture and connects capital with the client’s wider intentions. Some assets may have several roles; others may remain deliberately unallocated. The aim is not to force every pound into a category, but to create a clearer understanding of the client's financial position before advice begins.
